HOT ROLLED

  • Hot rolled steel is produced by rolling the steel at high temperatures (usually over 926 degrees Celsius) to enable the material to be shaped and formed easily, and can be made in much larger sizes. The hot rolled material is the most basic form of steel a mill produces and is typically used in applications in which finish isn’t critical, and dimensional tolerances aren’t as important as overall material strength.
  • Hot rolled coils and sheets usually come in 1219mm, 1525mm, and 1829mm widths, and thickness ranges from 1.2mm to 12mm. Thicker gauges are usually termed as plates (please see our section on plates). Other size thicknesses and customized dimensions are also available with corresponding lead times to produce or import.

COLD ROLLED

  • Cold rolled steel is basically hot rolled material that underwent further processing to achieve better surface quality and more exact dimensions. Cold rolled steel sheets and coils are usually used as basic materials in automobiles, electrical appliances, steel office equipment, containers, steel drums, and various other materials.
  • Cold rolled coils and sheets usually come in 1219mm width and thickness ranges from 0.35mm to 2.5mm.

COLD ROLLED FULL HARD

  • Cold rolled full hard coils and sheets have hot rolled metal base, goes through the cold-reduction process without annealing, thus making the material more hardened and has high resistance to denting. This material is often used to make purlins.
  • Coils usually come in 1219mm width and thicknesses ranges from 0.6mm to 2mm. Narrower width sizes can be available upon request.
  •

GALVANIZED / G.I.

  • Galvanized steel is defined as a carbon steel sheet coated with zinc on both sides. Continuous hot dipping, or electro-galvanizing are the two processes used to produce galvanized sheet and coil. We usually only import hot dipped galvanized materials as the coating is always several times thicker therefore making our sheets and coils more corrosion resistant.
  • Galvanized coils and sheets usually come in 1219mm width and thickness ranges from 0.3mm to 2.3mm. Special size 838mm width with 1.6mm thickness is always on stock as well for some special applications. Other thicknesses are available with corresponding lead times to produce or import.
